Our unusual story begins in a humble fisherman’s village on the Arabian coast of Kerala, South India; where an Australian girl Billy, meets an Indian boy Max, with Mallu spice running through his veins.
Cooking his way to her heart, together they ran a beach side restaurant, serving fresh fish and village style cuisine, attracting guests from around the globe, until eventually settling in the lush mountains of Melbourne.
Missing the dishes of Max’s birthplace, Babaji’s Kitchen was destined to be born. From establishing themselves at festivals and markets across Victoria to eventually opening their first street food restaurant in Puffing Billy’s hometown, Belgrave. Babajis pride itself on bringing people together with great food and South Indian hospitality, (no matter what cricket team you follow!)
