DOG FRIENDLY DINING IN MELBOURNE

QUITE POSSIBLY MELBOURNE'S ONLY DOG FRIENDLY INDIAN RESTAURANT

Can I bring my dog to Babajis? Of course! We've even got free raw bones for them to keep them busy...

Babajis Belgrave in the Dandenong Ranges has street dining, and blankets available.

Babajis Warburton in the Yarra Valley has an outside beer garden and open fires in winter to keep everyone warm.

Here's some ideas for a close by dog friendly walk after your Babajis feast.

BELGRAVE,  DANDENONG RANGES

  1. Birdsland Reserve - Just a 5 minute drive away from Babajis Belgrave, an ideal spot for a family walk.  Very accessible, lots to see.  Dogs must be on lead.
  2. Olinda Golf Course - A 10 minute drive from Babajis Belgrave This is an unofficial dogs off lead retired golf course. With spectacular views of the Yarra Valley, it's doggy paradise.
  3. Mathias track, Olinda - A 10 minute drive from Babajis Belgrave. An accessible mostly flat 7.5km walk (both ways). With stunning views, pockets of rainforest and lyrebirds roaming.  Dogs must be on lead.

NOTE! Most of the Dandenong Ranges is a National Park. Dogs are not permitted in our national parks.

WARBURTON, YARRA VALLEY

  1. Along the river behind Babajis  - For a shorter walk, follow the path along the river just behind Babajis Warburton. It goes into town and beyond. Choose a bridge to cross and make your way back to Babajis for a hot chai when you're done. Dogs must be on lead.
  2. Aquaduct trail - This is 30km walking track looking down on the Warburton township. Don't worry there is lots of opportunities to step on and off the trail if you are looking for a shorter walk. Dogs must be on lead.
  3. La La Falls - A 3.2 km walk through the rainforest up to the falls. Not long but of course, steep. Dogs must be on lead.

NOTE! A lot of the forest around Warburton is National Park where dogs are not permitted. This is includes the Redwood Forest and Mount Donna Buang.
