At Babaji’s Kerala Kitchen, your dog is just as welcome as you are — with outdoor dining, cosy blankets, and even a free raw bone to keep them happy while you enjoy your South Indian feast.

We’re proud to be Melbourne's only dog friendly Indian restaurant, located in the Dandenong Ranges (Belgrave) and the Yarra Valley (Warburton).

Babaji’s Warburton is made for dog lovers.

It’s the perfect stop after exploring the Yarra Valley with your pup.

Please note on public holiday weekends - outdoor tables can be booked until 12pm for the day ahead.

After this time. All outdoor tables become walk ins only (pups still welcome of course!)

DOG FRIENDLY WALKS NEAR BABAJIS

Make a day of it — walk, eat, chai, repeat.

NEAR BELGRAVE:

  1. Birdsland Reserve - Just a 5 minute drive away from Babajis Belgrave, an ideal spot for a family walk.  Very accessible, lots to see.  
  2. Olinda Golf Course - Off lead dog paradise with spectacular views of the Yarra Valley . 
  3. Mathias track, Olinda - A 10 minute drive from Babajis Belgrave. An accessible mostly flat 7.5km walk (both ways). With stunning views, pockets of rainforest and lyrebirds roaming.  Dogs must be on lead.

Near Warburton

  • Yarra River walk (right behind Babaji’s). Keep it short - 10 minutes into town or keep walking, choose a bridge of your liking - up to 50 minutes back to Babajis.
  • Aqueduct Trail – long scenic flat walk with great views of the Valley, great for taking a bike as well. 
  • La La Falls – short, steep rainforest hike.

Things to know before you visit

  • Dogs are welcome in outdoor dining areas
  • Most surrounding national parks do not allow dogs
  • Water and treats available for your pup
