MELBOURNE FOOD & WINE FESTIVAL '25. A BANANA LEAF FEAST BY THE BIRRARUNG RIVER, WARBURTON

Lunch - Sunday 30 March '25

Enjoy a unique foodie experience in a spectacular location for this year's Melbourne Food & Wine Festival as Babajis invites you to Warburton's very first banana leaf feast along the banks of the Birrarung (Yarra River).

Here's your chance to engage with thousands of years of Southern Indian tradition and try dishes rarely found in Australia as we present a feast straight from the village kitchen of Southern India, with live Indian music and Yarra Valley wines completing the scene.

You'll be served a vibrant spread of 13 dishes from Kerala, including coconut based curries, daals, stir fries, sweet chutney, tangy pickles, crunchy pappadams and sweet payasam. Also showcasing a selection of meat & fish dishes, with the option to add fresh local trout fry to the feast. This is your chance to ditch the cutlery and embrace bare hands for the ultimate Kerala experience in a beautiful mountain setting.

Contingencies in place for misbehaving Melbourne weather!  (...and yes, cutlery provided for the less brave)

TICKETS

$98 p.p - includes our banana leaf sadya served traditionally along the Birrarung | Yarra River, welcome glass of Yarra Valley wine & live traditional Indian music. Add fresh local trout fry or beef fry (+$28)
